Everything we know about Pokémon Sword and Shield's new Legendary Pokémon DLC Regi Pokémon

We're still reeling from all the Pokemon Sword and Shield news that the most recent Nintendo Direct shared. While the trailers shown in the live gave us plenty of news, there were several things teased in the footage that we didn't get much information about. In a very brief moment in one of the trailers, fans got a glimpse of what appear to be two new Regi Pokemon.

As a quick refresher for those unfamiliar, Regis was a trio of Legendary Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. These are Golem-type Pokemon that hide in deep, intricate caves that players must navigate through. Each Regi has a set of face points. They each consist of an elemental; there is a Regice, Regirock and Registeel. Regigigas, the giant titan Pokémon that resembles a Regi, is their master.

Based on what we saw in the latest Pokémon trailer, the Regi Trio may end up becoming a quintet in the upcoming Sword and Shield DLC. Two new Pokemon were featured in the trailer, and both look like new Regis. Even though we didn't see them too much in the trailer, we'll see what we know about these new Regis.

Everything we know about Pokémon Sword and Shield's two new Regis

The main reason why fans believe the two new Pokemon are Regis is because they have a similar body structure to other Regis. They have a large torso with small arms and legs sticking out. They also appear to be made up of two elementals. One of them looks like pure electricity, while the other looks like a big red ball with a dragon's head protruding from its sides. The dragon arms give the impression that Regi will use dragon powers and be a dragon-type Pokemon.

However, the biggest giveaway for them being Regis is the fact that they have a series of dots on their faces that resemble the dots found in other Regis. Footage of these two Regis also emerged after the trailer showed the original three Regis and their temples.

Speaking of temples, in the trailer it looks like each of the Regis will have their own temple for players to roam in the second DLC expansion, The Crown Tundra. The color of the temple and the dot formation on top matches that of one of the three Regis. The trailer showed four temples, three of which matched Regis' original trio.

But there was a fourth that showed up; this fourth temple is divided into two colors, one side is yellow and the other is red. The yellow side has the electric-looking new Regi's dot formation on top, and the red side has the dragon-looking new Regi's dot formation. Presumably, each temple will house a respective Regi, and the two new Regis will be found in the fourth.

It's possible that they end up being release exclusives, which may explain why there's only one temple for the two. It is also possible for players to choose which side of the temple to explore. This is just speculative on our part, there isn't much official information on these two new Regis.
