New things are coming to Pokémon Go, and one of them is the introduction of Regigiggas. It's a massive, Normal-type creature, and it's the big boss of Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. It will be featured in a particular research quest titled "A Colossal Discovery". There are two methods to locate Regigigas. You can wait for the event to release in early November or purchase a special real-money ticket for the chance to catch it early.

Get access to Regigigas early with a Discovery Colossal Research Event Ticket
Regigigas makes his first appearance in the game. Regirock, Regice, and Registeel have already come, but the big boss is going to have his first appearance.
For those who can't wait to catch this Pokémon, you have the option to enter and purchase an additional ticket to access it. Here's how you catch it when you visit the store.
- Press the "Learn more" button in the store.
- Press the "Buy" button. It's going to cost $7,99, or your region's equivalent to that amount.
- You will then receive a pop-up indicating that you have received a ticket for A Colossal Discovery. Once you click OK, the ticket will show up in your item bag.
- Before the event, you will receive a medal. When the event begins and you open the app during the event time, you will have access to the special research titled A Colossal Discovery.
When you pick up the ticket, you will have access to the event, but on a specific date. The A Colossal Discovery research event begins on November 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. in your region.
Players who participate in this event are going to be given a variety of different tasks to complete during this event, which we don't know what they are at this time. Those who take part in this event will have the chance to complete these unique tasks after the event and for as long as they need.
You don't need to go to a specific area. The A Colossal Discovery unique research event will take place in the region you are in and does not restrict the number of players unless they do not want to pay.
What are you going to get for being apart of this event? Here's what else:
- A colossal discovery medal
- Up to 10 additional Raid Passes at no cost during the Special Research event when you spin a Photo Disc at a Gym. These passes will no longer be available after the event period ends. You cannot hold more than one Raid Pass at a time.
- An Unova Stone, a Sinnoh Stone, and an exclusive avatar during Special Research
For those who want the chance to take part in the event, try to capture Regigigas before it arrives in November, this ticket is the way to do it. Now, throughout Niantic's blog post about trainers tackling Regigigas early, they mention the fact that there's a "chance" of this happening. Trainers attending the event may be wasting their time, so be careful.
Regigigas beyond a colossal discovery
If the Trainers aren't interested in paying the money to be able to pursue Regigigas, you'll have the option to fight him in an EX Raid. EX Raid Events are special raids that take place at specific times. They are going to appear on a given date and time, so be sure not to stay tuned for upcoming events. Niantic will release this information soon and at a later date.
