Pokémon Sword and Shield comes with a variety of Pokémon roaming the Wild Area with useful evolutions. Although you can sometimes find these evolutions and ignore previous forms, you can craft one from level one to boost its stats. A useful Pokémon to know how to evolve is Chrysapile and make it a Lucanon.
Before you can think about evolving Chrysapile, you need to find one. You can find its first evolution, Larvibule, in the Wild Area at Watchtower Ruins, Dappled Grove, and North Lake Miloch during rain or thunderstorms. You have a decent chance of finding one in the Drowsy Weald and Route 1 during the early part of the game, but its level is low, which could be very useful for budding trainers at the start of the game. You can find Chrysapile in Coupenotte's Eye when it's raining, and in Dusty Bowl and Hammerlock Hills during a thunderstorm.
Now, when you have a Chrysapile, you are ready to work to acquire a Lucanon. To turn it into such, you need to give it a thunderbolt. You can find a thunderstorm all over Sword and Shield. Notable locations include the Digging duo in the Wild Area for them to dig one up for 500 watts.
You can also find one in the North Lake Miloch Wilderness area. It's the Poké Ball found at the top of the hill east of the bridge. Go there and look for a small cliff that looks towards the large tower in the distance.
When you're ready, give your Chrysapile Thunderstone, and you should see it evolve into Lucanon in no time.
