The current sections of Assassin's Creed games are still considered one of the worst parts of the franchise, and it doesn't look like that's about to change with Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Ubisoft has confirmed that Layla Hassan's storyline from Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey will continue in the publisher's next hit installment.
While we didn't expect Ubisoft to completely abandon the storyline, there was always hope that it would be improved somewhat. And thankfully, according to lead producer Julien Laferrière, they will be at least slightly different from what we expect. In an interview with Eurogamer, he said: "We've found a way to blend Present Day into a new kind of experience for gamers. And Present Day is playable – I can confirm that."
So we have it. You'll be taken out of the Viking-inspired setting of England to dig through ancient ruins as Layla, but it looks like Ubisoft has come up with a new approach to this particular stretch of gameplay. Let's just hope it's good this time around.
