Crossing

Charting courses and going to Preppers in need is what you'll spend most of your time doing in Death Stranding, which means a lot of travel. You can choose to start your journey with a light jog or pick up the pace with a sprint, but be aware that this will deplete your stamina meter. Vehicles become much more plentiful as you progress through the game, but for the first few chapters you'll have to rely on your own feet.

Make sure you have a ladder, climbing anchors and PCCs with you at all times. These are the tools that will help you navigate steeper terrain or cross bodies of water that could prove dangerous. If you run into a steep cliff, consider placing a ladder on the ground to at least make some headway up the mountain. From there you will more than likely find a route through the rocky surfaces. On the other hand, climbing anchors are ideal for descending. Stick one close to the edge and start descending, but be aware that you have just too much rope to take advantage of it.

Fighting

Taking on enemies in head-on combat isn't Death Stranding's primary goal, but there will be times when there's no getting around the situation. Combat with human enemies, especially Mules, is relatively straightforward. Punches and kicks can be thrown by mashing the square button, and after about six or seven punches, an enemy will be downed. This works well when you're going up against a single fighter, but you're going to have to mix things up when a group is on your tail.

If you manage to separate one of them from the group, eliminate them but make sure to collect the load they were carrying. Using this, you can either throw it at another mule or hit it with it, which will result in a one-hit loss. Each mule wears a piece of gear on their back so you can effectively chain this attack together until they're all down.

Death Stranding - Tips, Tricks & Cheats

Here are some tips, tricks, and cheats that will help you play Death Stranding.

Build generators online

If you equip anything battery related or choose to try out a vehicle, online generators will be your best friend. Since these gadgets drain their battery pretty quickly, they will need to be recharged quite often, and that's where online generators come in. a Chiral network coverage. If you have one equipped and you're about to run out of juice, build one quickly and you'll be up and running again in no time. It will also be there for the next time you are in the area and the power is weak.

Stand still to detect BTs

You can detect BTs and pinpoint their location by activating your odradek scanner by pressing the R1 button. What the game doesn't tell you is that you have to stand still for it to work. You can still activate the scan at any time, but it won't detect any stranded objects. Therefore, no matter how intense the situation, if you want to know the exact location of a BT, you must stay still before sending a scan.

Don't worry about leaving gear in private lockers

If you want to enjoy fast travel on a regular basis, you have to get used to leaving your gear behind. By quickly switching houses to safety, you leave all the items you were carrying on your back in a private locker, exclusive to that room. You cannot pick it up at another location further down the road.

But it's OK. When you reach the next safe house via fast travel, be sure to craft some new gear before you leave. This will consume materials and resources, but we've never had a problem with supplies running out. There are tradeoffs with fast travel, but crafting items is handy for you to pick up.

Take advantage of the shared locker

On the other hand, if you're low on items and materials, take a look in the shared locker at any shelter or distribution center. It contains stuff that other players have marked as free for other users. These items can range from lost cargo, weapons, boots, and Hematic Grenades – which is handy and costs nothing to take for yourself. The shared locker literally gives you items for free, so make the most of it.

Use the private room to store and restore your stamina

Private rooms are available in every Security and Distribution Center, meaning they're a fairly easy way to regain stamina and stock up on grenades. Sam will automatically restore his stamina to full by simply entering the chamber itself after some sleep, while you can earn EX Grenades by going to the bathroom. Sitting and standing produce different types.

Equip the Energy Skeleton ASAP

Seriously, equip the Power Skeleton as soon as you can. Since this is given to you a bit early in the story, it increases the amount of weight you can carry on your back exponentially. And it's a real game changer. It makes deliveries somewhat cumbersome as you have to deal with a load that swings in the wind. You won't have to worry about battling the weight of your load for loads under 100kg with the Power Skeleton attached to your legs, meaning your journey to the Porter will be much easier.

Vehicles are much more common than you think

Although you won't encounter any in the early game, vehicles start to become quite common after Chapter 2. In motorcycle or truck form, they allow you to cover a lot of ground much faster than you would in sprint. Use them as often as you can, especially if you have a long delivery ahead of you or a delivery with a time limit.
