Broken limbs in DayZ are no joke! Splints help reset limbs that have been broken so you can also avoid fainting and becoming an easy target for enemies. They're not as easy to use when applied, but it's better than fainting on the side of the road for you to become even more of a victim to attack!
DayZ on Xbox and PC
(Sticks can be obtained by chopping nearby bushes with your knife, axe, or machete).
- Obtain two small sticks from your inventory and place them in your hands.
- Choose rags or bandages inside your bag.
- Choose the splint recipe from the crafting options menu.
- Press and hold B to combine sticks with bandages.
- Pull up on the item screen and go to the surroundings tab, pick up the brace.
- Put it on the limb that is broken or put it in your bag for later use.

How to make a splint in DayZ on PS4?
The only difference is that the combination button changes.
- Get two small sticks and place them in your hands.
- Choose/highlight rags or bandages from your bag.
- Browse through the available crafting options until you get to the splint recipe.
- Press and hold Circle to combine sticks with bandages.
- Pull up the object screen and go to the Surroundings tab, remove the splint.
- Put it on the limb that is broken or put it in your bag for later use.
Now you should be ready to move again! Although at a slightly slower pace until your limb is fixed…
