You grow your crops, launder your money, and keep all your lieutenants in line. Living the life of a kingpin in Cartel Tycoon can be tough, but one aspect of this Early Access management title has given players fits: building loyalty.
Soon enough, you receive a quest that requires you to increase your Loyalty in order to take over a town. Increasing your Loyalty in Cartel Tycoon is actually quite simple; the game poorly explains what you need to do. This glitch will likely be fixed as the game progresses through development, but here's how to increase your Loyalty Meter now (as of March 22, 2021).
How to increase loyalty
You'll find your loyalty meter at the top of the screen on the right side, next to your terror meter.
There are four different loyalty levels, each indicating how the general population perceives you in the world of Cartel Tycoon. The game gives the impression that Loyalty is separate for each city or region, but that's not the case (at least at this stage of the game's development).
You have a loyalty meter, and actions you take in any region affect it for all areas of the map. The way you think about your Loyalty Meter in Cartel Tycoon is how the general public perceives you. The way to increase this counter is to do things that people would like or appreciate.
Armed with this knowledge, here are the top ways to build loyalty.
Build specific buildings
You start with a city under your control and, if you followed the quests from the start of the game, you should already have a taxi company there. However, there are a few additional locations to construct buildings in this town, and several of them will increase your loyalty.
When looking at the buildings to be created there, look for a spec that reads one-time increase in fidelity. Buildings that include this boost include the Amusement Park, Salsa Club, and Church. Once one of these buildings is built, your loyalty meter will increase.
Run special events
Once you have built one of these buildings, you can also donate a large amount of money to a special event in that building to get another loyalty bonus.
Look for the Give Loyalty to Action specification. These events are expensive but provide a significant boost in loyalty, such as hosting a Salsa Festival at the Salsa Club. You can launch as many events as you want; they just each have a cooldown to watch out for. Click on the building and look for the Run button to launch one of these events.
Buy in a village
On the Cartel Tycoon map, you will find villages under the control of rival gangs. You can take over these villages as you would any other building. Taking control of a village gives you the ability to buy goods or resources there, which will slightly increase your loyalty meter.
