Chernobylite is a sci-fi survival horror game developed by The Farm 51 and is currently in Steam Early Access. However, the survival horror game just got a new trailer and launch window for PC (1.0), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Chernobylite will be released in July, although a firm date has yet to be revealed.
Farm 51 said in Steam's announcement for the patch that next-gen console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S are expected to launch in 2021, but they did not provide a specific time frame or window alongside the announcement.
The latest gameplay trailer (seen below) gives a deeper look into the dark and desperate world of a sci-fi Pripyat. It shows some of the most important updates and changes made to the current version before its full launch.
For starters, the entire script has been rewritten and there are all new voiceovers for both English and Russian language options. Localization has also been completed for all other major languages, including Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), and Spanish.
The developers have also implemented a brand new soundtrack, performed by award-winning composer Mikolaj Stroinski, with this update. Last but not least, there is new content for players, with the addition of a section of a new level called Heist, as well as some gameplay and quality of life tweaks.
Farm 51 said it's implemented "several thousand fixes and improvements" with this latest patch, and you can see a more comprehensive overview here.
Those who already own the Early Access version on PC can download the patch now. To celebrate the game's upcoming launch, Chernobylite will be on sale for 20% off the original price by April 30.
