Tokyo Game Show 2022 turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag in terms of quality. Day one started off strong with the Xbox presentation while day two with Sega, Konami and Square Enix left gamers craving. Rather than having a 'traditional' gameplay trailer or breakdown that's more common at Western conferences like Gamescom and E3, many presentations at TGS relied on personalities playing sections of upcoming titles.
In particular, Square Enix's presentation was a disjointed mess. Not much was shown until a segment with three comedians started playing through sections of titles like Forspoken. Much like the One Piece Odyssey gameplay demo, it just wasn't a good time for those involved.

The personalities, although well known in their home countries, are suffering on two fronts. The first is that everything goes through a bland and monotonous translator. The second is that they just aren't good at the game. Being neither developers nor gamers, they don't offer any real insight into what they're playing. There's a lot of commentary on how the graphics look, how the character moves, and how the camera works.
As for the Forspoken gameplay itself, it follows Frey as she ventures through a generic, yet beautiful, open grassland surrounded by mountains. The highlight of the stream was a fish/alligator boss fight that proved to be quite the challenge for the gentleman playing it. The title sounds interesting, but it certainly wasn't the best way to present it.
