Your first task during Guardian Games 2022 in Destiny 2 should always be to complete the Best In Class questline. It's easy, relatively quick, and will give you a good head start on farming laurels, medallions, and the SMG title. There are only a few steps involved, with the rest seeing you visiting various tower NPCs to progress.
How to complete Best in Class quest in Guardian Games 2022
There are nine stages in total for Best in Class, and the whole quest should take no more than half an hour.
Step 1: Talk to Eva Levante
Charge into the tower and head to the nice lady in front of the catwalk after admiring the new look. This is Eva Levante, responsible for all Destiny 2 in-game events. Talk to her to begin the quest in earnest.
Stage 2: Earn 10 laurels and a single medallion of any level
Head to any basic activity playlist (Strikes, Gambit, or Crucible) and complete it for more than enough laurels and the medallion in question. You can technically do any number of matchmaking or party activities, but doing a Quick Strike or PvP match is easier.
Steps 3, 4, and 5: Speak to Eva to receive your Medallion Case
The next three stages all end in your second conversation with Eva. For step 3, return to the tower after collecting your laurels and your first medallion. She will congratulate you and give you the Medallion case. Collect it for Stage 4. Stage 5 allows you to add the Medallion Battalion quest to your journal.
Step 6: Talk to Zavala
Once you are done talking with Eva, she will send you to Zavala. Head over to the big guy and talk with him.
Stage 7: Earn a Vanguard Medal and complete a Recreational Playlist Activity
Open the Tower map. A pair of Guardian Games logos sit at the top. The one on the left is the Recreational Playlist, an otherwise standard Strike playlist that includes Strike Score and Vanguard Medals for performing particular actions. Enter and complete the strike he offers. You'll collect more than one medal on the way, and once you're done, return to the tower.
Step 8: Talk to Zavala and start the Shoot to Score quest
Go back to Zavala and talk to him. He will give you the first step of the Shoot to Score quest, then send you back to Eva.
Stage 9: Talk to Eva to earn your first SMG title
Eva will be happy that you have started your Guardian Games journey and will award you a static roll of The Title SMG. The higher the value, the more likely you are to get a new SMG or two. For additional rolls, replace the medallions.
You have completed the Guardian Games opening quest.
