God of War dragon locations and how to get dragon tears

Finding God of War dragon locations is just the beginning. You'll need to complete boons for all three dragons to earn dragon tears, which you can then use to upgrade the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages.

It takes five Dragon Tears to fully upgrade the Gauntlet, and you can get three from the Midgard Dragons. However, it takes a long time and a lot of hiking there and back, so you'll need a bit of patience to clear the three favors.

God of War Dragon Locations - Where to Find Fafnir

Fafnir lives near the Lake of Nine and Alfheim Tower.

Sail to the tower and moor the boat at the pier on the left.

Destroy the rubble, climb the cliff, then follow the path to the double doors. Enter, and Fafnir's Flight favor begins as soon as you approach the dragon.

You need to destroy three shrines for this quest, and the first two are located on a path to your left. A few Draugr surround the first, so defeat them, then use the Leviathan ax to destroy the shrine.

Follow the path to the second one and you'll find even more Draugr. This time you will also have to dodge Fafnir's lightning, but the process is the same as for the first shrine: defeat the enemies, then use the ax to destroy the shrine.

The third shrine is in the southeast corner of the area, and a large Draugr guards it with a two-handed sword. Face this new threat, destroy the sanctuary and finally talk to Fafnir.

If you're having trouble finding one, follow the favor as an active quest to get markers showing you the general direction.

God of War Dragon Locations - Where to Find Otr

Otr is also close to the Alfheim Tower. Dock your boat to the right of the tower this time and follow the path to another set of double doors. There's a wheel nearby that you'll need to unlock the doors.

You will enter Veithurgard once you pass through the gates, and another boon will begin immediately: the imprisonment of Otr.

Otr's imprisonment also requires you to destroy three shrines. Once in the Veithurgard area, move forward until you reach a pillar with runes carved on it. Otr shoots lightning on the way, so you'll have to dodge it as you go. Turn right at the pillar and follow the path to the first shrine. Defeat the Draugr as usual and destroy the shrine with the axe.

Go back to the pillar and take the left path this time, then do the same.

Now go back to the first open area. Turn right and climb the steps into a torch-lit cave. This path takes you along some stones and over some gaps, but keep following it until you come to the third shrine. This one only has one Draugr, so deal with him, destroy the shrine, and finally talk to Otr.

God of War Dragon Locations - Where to Find Reginan

Getting to Regina takes a bit of work. You will first need to complete four favors for Brok and Sindri (two for each), then perform the King's Salute for Brok.

After that, you will receive a quest marker that will take you to Konunsgard on the western edge of the Lake of Nine. Now you know how it goes. Enter the gates and you will start Reginn's Favor, Reginn's Fire.

This is another scenario where you have to destroy three shrines, but the area is much larger than the previous two. There is a locked door in front of the rune pillar. Turn right from the locked door and follow the long path until you round a bend and see Reginn.

The dragon blows lightning similar to its brethren, but there is only one point for when your path crosses it. Keep moving forward and you'll reach the first shrine.

The second shrine is a few steps further, under a fire pot. Turn around, then return to the clearing and turn right. Deal with the runic door puzzle by hitting all three bells in a short amount of time. Launch sap at the first one, then shoot it with a shock arrow to count as a hit. Throw your ax at the other two.

Follow the (very long) path until you reach another clearing with a pedestal. The third shrine is opposite, but watch out for Reginn's lightning bolts, as they periodically circle this area. Deal with all the enemies in the clearing, then destroy the shrine and talk to Reginn.

Take your Dragon Tears back to Brok and you can use them to upgrade the Gauntlet.
