The developers had long since confirmed that Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy would be a linear, non-open world. This turned out to be quite true, as the game is divided into 16 different chapters.
Players will visit many planets, starships and space stations during the 16 chapters. Plus, they'll encounter a wide variety of creatures and have plenty of exciting choices to make.
As players progress through the story, they must act as a leader. The goal is to make the Guardians of the Galaxy a real team, rather than just a name. This involves making choices in battle and talking to other Guardians.

Throughout the game, players will play as Peter Quill or Star-Lord, as many fans know him. As they fight against different enemies and attempt to solve a mystery that unfolds at the heart of the Nova Corps, the Guardians will be able to command the rest of the Guardians.
