While people are loving Among Us lately, things are always a little more fun when you engage in a bit of sneakiness. It's no wonder most players are hoping for a chance to play the game as an impostor. Unfortunately, since the majority of players will eventually become crew members, you often won't have the opportunity to bypass people to prevent people from successfully completing tasks very often. We'll quickly examine if there's anything you can do to increase your chances of engaging in espionage.
How to get Impostor
To be the impostor in Among Us, you really have to be lucky enough to be selected. Unfortunately, there's no real way to increase your odds unless the game you're playing has more than one Impostor slot. If there is the typical Impostor slot available in a game with ten people, your chances are only 10% of being selected. You can increase it significantly if you take it to two or three Imposters, but this is less common in public games.
The Imposter has a lot of unique abilities at his disposal, which is why he's so fun. You can kill crew members, sabotage tasks, run through vents to sneak up on people or make a hasty exit, and much more. You can also snicker as players accuse each other of being the impostor when you know you've sewn the seeds of dissent. While being a crew member is fine, it doesn't give you the same satisfaction as being the impostor.
As I mentioned before, there is not much you can do to increase your odds. There have been rumors that hosting the game will give you a boost in the likelihood of you being chosen, but that sounds more like anecdotal evidence than truth. The only thing you can really do is increase the number of imposters in the rules of the game or you can just play with fewer people which will greatly increase your chances!
