Dead by Daylight development company Behavior Interactive has given Dead by Daylight players early access to upcoming content through their Player Test Build system. The PTB is opening the DLC up soon for players so they can test out the new Survivor and Slayer perks and abilities and get a feel for how to play them. In the guide below, we explain how to join these development versions.
Step One: Enter Game Settings
The process to join the PTB for Dead by Daylight begins outside of the game. As shown in the image above, you can enter the launch settings from the Game page in your Steam library. Select the gear icon (Settings) on the right of the page and select Properties from the drop-down menu.

Step Two: Select Public Beta Test
From the settings menu you just opened, select the Betas tab on the left of the page. You will have two options that you can change here. Under the text Select the beta version you want to activate, the drop-down menu and select public-test – External hookup for public testing.
Once you've done this, the next time you launch the game, you'll automatically join the game's Player Test Build. You'll now have access to all upcoming content, perks, killers, survivors, and more ( assuming it is available on your account).
