Emotes are unlocked after reaching a set number of secondary points. Each primary and Tier 1 subscriber will count as one sub-point. Level 2 subscriptions give the channel two points and Level 3 subscriptions give the channel six points. But how many subpoints are needed for a new emote slot?
Affiliate Emoticon Slots
Channels get five level 1 emoticon slots, one level 2 emoticon slot and one level 3 emoticon slot, and an auto-animated emoticon when the channel becomes affiliated. Affiliates then get an additional emoticon slot and an animated emoticon slot at 15, 25, 35, and 50 subpoints for a total of nine emoticons and five animated emoticon slots in total.

Partner emote slots
Channels get five Tier 1 emote slots, five Tier 2 and five additional Tier 3 emote slots, and five animated emote slots when accepted into the Partner Program. More emote slots can then be unlocked when you reach a set number of secondary points.

- Emotes 14-19 โ Unlocked every 25 subpoints above 100
- Emotes 20-24 โ Unlocked every 50 subpoints above 250

Any emote slot after 60 will require over 10 subpoints.
Reward Cheermotes
Bit rewards will unlock special cheermots for those who donated bits on a channel. The first three cheermote slots are unlocked automatically and can be assigned to 1, 000, and 5 bit cheerers. Further slots are unlocked each time the final rewarded level is reached. This means that a new slot will open once 000 bits have been cheered on by a single person, and another slot will unlock when it reaches the criteria for the next cheermote.
