When you first dive into Marvel's Avengers, you'll probably want to play as your favorite hero. Unfortunately, you will have to go through a story and parts of the campaign to unlock some of them. This is even the case in multiplayer, where only a few selected heroes are available at the start. Never scared! We'll tell you exactly when you can expect to play as your Asgardian-wielding thunder in this guide.
To unlock Thor in Marvel's Avengers, you'll need to go to the Testing...1...2...3... campaign mission. It's single-player, and it's actually quite deep in the game. You'll have unlocked quite a few other heroes before getting to Thor.
Once you complete the mission, you can play as Thor in single player mode. If you want to use it in multiplayer, you'll need to complete Iron Man's HARM challenge which will unlock it. You can then head to the War Table and now select one of the six heroes available!
If you're hoping for more characters to star then, you should be happy to know that you can expect Young Avengers Hawkeye's Kate Bishop to be added to the roster in the near future. It looks like there are quite a few plans to expand the game with extra levels and a bunch of extra heroes!
