Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is slated for release on October 28 this year. The FPS is coming to various platforms including PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles. As such, PC gamers are wondering if the game will return to Steam, the biggest game distribution service. Let's find out.
Is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022) confirmed for Steam release?
Although it hasn't been officially confirmed yet, there is enough evidence to suggest that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will indeed be released on Steam. After Steam retweeted the teaser for the upcoming game, the community has reason to believe that CoD is making a return to Steam.
Additionally, Steam users spotted the new Modern Warfare 2 artwork in the platform's Call of Duty franchise section, which was removed a few days ago. However, players purchasing the game on Steam may need to install Battle.net software to run it, similar to how Apex Legends players need EA's Origin app.

Will CoD Modern Warfare 2 still be on Battle.net?
Since Battle.net is Activision's in-house app and game client, the game will definitely be available on it. You can also see that Modern Warfare 2 is already advertised on the app's homepage.
How long has CoD been on Steam?
Call of Duty: WWII (2017) was the franchise's last game to hit Steam. The next title, Black Ops 4, and all games that followed it have been made exclusive for purchase and download through the Battle.net client for PC players.
