One unexpected game announcement really caught our eye during the PlayStation 5 reveal event, and it was Kena: Bridge of Spirits. This cross-generational action adventure got a big first trailer, and we can't wait to see how it all pans out when the game hits the holidays.
IGN just released a new video, which features two members of the development team as they go through the trailer and provide some details. Kena is the titular main character, a spirit guide who discovered a village filled with lost and corrupted souls. Its staff is a versatile tool that can act in a variety of ways; you can use it as a melee weapon, bow or shield.
The Rot is the cute species of little black creatures seen in the trailer, and you'll find more of them as you explore the world. They have their own abilities, like Rot Carry. Using this you can tell mobs to pick up items and place them where you need them. They can also aid you in combat, enhancing your attacks.
The Rot and Kena will work together to rid the game of corruption, Okami-style. The developers say that once you clear a Corruption Zone it will unlock "new gameplay elements".
