Rust CCTV Cameras: All Codes and Locations

Rust CCTV Cameras: All Codes and Locations

Rust is all about protecting what you own, and that becomes even more important as you expand your base. With more to lose, taking your time and being careful is at the heart of the experience. This is where Rust CCTV hidden cameras come in.

Rust CCTV cameras are dotted around most of the landmarks scattered across each server. With a bird's eye (and most importantly safe) view of your planned destinations, you can plan ahead or avoid certain areas altogether if you see hostile-looking teams moving around.

While accessing these CCTV cameras is relatively easy, there are a few steps you'll need to follow to get your perspective on Rust.

How to make a computer station

Rust CCTV Cameras: All Codes and Locations

If you want to spy on these rival clans, you'll need to get a Computer Station. To create one, a blueprint is needed, since the computer station is not an auto-learned blueprint in Rust Console Edition. You will need to research both a Computer Station and a Craft or locate a Research Table.

In addition to learning his plan, a computer station will require some cleaning; a number of resources are required to craft it. You will need to create a level 2 workbench yourself, which is a default blueprint in your crafting menu.

Once you have a level 2 workbench, you will need the following materials:

  • 75x scrap
  • 1x RF broadcaster
  • 1x RF receiver
  • 5x high quality metal
  • 1x targeting computer

There is no definitive way to find most of the supplies needed, however, Scrap Metal, Receivers, and Broadcasters are usually found in various containers around the map. Some of the higher value materials, such as a targeting computer, may require risky ventures from helicopter crash sites and airdrops, and high-grade metal can be collected using a mining career.

Alternatively, if you have scrap to spare, a computer station can also be purchased at the outpost for 300 scrap.

Once you have all the necessary resources, craft your own computer station in your base, and this will take you to the next step of accessing the server's CCTV cameras.

How to access CCTV

Rust CCTV Cameras: All Codes and Locations

Before you do anything with your new computer station, you will need to produce a power source to power it. A simple turbine, solar panel or small generator will do.

Now that you have configured and powered a computer station, you need to configure your own ID. By selecting the Set ID command, you can create a password for your CCTV account, which you will actually need to keep a note of, as it will now be required to access your Computer Station's CCTV network. This added security measure ensures that other snooping players won't be able to peek through your cameras.

Once your login has been created, you will be treated to a blank screen, with a text box that simply says “Logins to add”. This is where each of Rust's CCTV cameras require a unique passcode. All you have to do is enter the access code of a camera. , which means it will now be readily available from your computer station.

  • COMPOUNDSTREET

Monument locations vary from server to server, so if one of the above codes doesn't work, it just means that location is not on your server. However, with these codes you will be able to spot some of the most dangerous places on the map.

How to create your own CCTV cameras

In addition to monitoring the location of monuments, a computer station allows you to use your own Rust CCTV cameras. However, these are a little harder to find. You'll need to scout out an elite military loot crate to find a camera, which has been known to show up at the Launch Site, Military Tunnel, and Oil Rig. In addition to locating the crate, you will need to collect the following materials:

  • 1x wire tool
  • 1x separator
  • 1x switch

Once they're set up – and make sure you're facing them in the best position – hooking up your cameras to the computer station will allow you to monitor your base's perimeters from inside security.

While Rust CCTV cameras can be a lot of work to secure, they provide an added element of security to your setup, which means collecting and building can be much more stress-free. Now that you have the knowledge to create them and the codes for each of them on a particular server, you will be at least a little safer.
