The Outer Worlds 2 is happening. The sequel to The Outer Worlds will be released one day on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game's existence was announced during the Xbox/Bethesda E3 2021 showcase and was accompanied by a very tongue-in-cheek (on completely on-brand) trailer.
Based on the tone of the trailer, anyone can guess (except Obsidian, of course) if any of the footage is actually from The Outer Worlds 2. Sounds good, but who knows if that indicates the final product. We'll just have to wait and see.
Other than that, there's nothing else to do with The Outer Worlds 2. The sci-fi RPG is in development and will be released on Xbox Series X|S and PC. That's it. The trailer showcases the first game's tone and sense of humor while poking fun at AAA game trailers. It's gorgeous and compelling in many ways, and perhaps shows off some of the technology on display in the final product. May be.
Either way, we really enjoyed The Outer Worlds, saying in our review that it's "a wacky RPG to the brim that generously samples other genre giants." It's a fun adventure in a neon universe”. We also really liked its DLC expansions, Peril on Gorgon and Murder on Eridanos.
