So the entire Fortnite playerbase expected a surprise with the 13.30 update involving cars, and we certainly got one. Not what we expected, but then again, things rarely are. Fortnite players expected to be able to drive cars after the new update, but instead it looks like every car in the game has been removed.
After visiting many areas of the game, we have yet to see a single standard car. You can still find trucks, tractors near Frenzy Farm, and RVs scattered around the map, but the standard car no longer exists. The streets of Retail Row and Lazy Lake, two places known for their many cars that you can turn into metal for construction, are now completely empty without a single jerk.
While we have no idea what's really going on, the lack of cars and empty streets give the game an oddly sinister feel. Where did they all go? When will cars to drive be added to the game? What exactly is going on and why are we all feeling so confused right now?
At the moment we've run out of answers, and the only explanation given by Epic is based on lore, and that No Sweat is investigating automotive coverage, so we've recalled all cars on the island. Right now, we suspect the cars will be back on Thursday in time for the new weekly challenges, but that's, frankly, just a hunch.
We'll spend today exploring the map with the rest of the community to see what's different in this update. In the meantime, you can check out the unofficial patch notes for 13:30 p.m. and all the new cosmetics included in the update.
