Classic horror brought to life
Can you overcome the fear forming in your stomach? Do you dare to venture into the Waxworks and undo the curse that hangs over your family? These are the kinds of questions Went2Play asks gamers with their remake of Horrorsoft's 1992 game, Waxworks: Curse of The Ancestors. Where the 1992 version of the game was a point-and-click adventure, Went2Play's version brings in a whole host of new elements. The Went2Play website provides additional details about the game.
Waxworks places the player in the fight of their life as they attempt to undo their family's curse. As the player character, you will be taken on an adventure through a wax museum. Four gruesome exhibits that you must solve, fight and survive. Above all, your mission will be to kill the witch who cursed your ancestors. The developers warn that “The only way out is to solve the puzzle, win a terrible battle or die a horrible death. »
In addition to its new look, with improved graphics and 3D modeling, Waxworks also offers a list of new mechanics far from the point-and-click of 1992. From an RPG system and crafting, to different combat styles , Waxworks looks like a modern day horror game. Still, Went2Play assures fans that "it follows the classic style of '80s horror movies."
Additionally, a trailer released last year highlights gameplay changes from its own ancestor.
To illustrate the gameplay, the trailer shows some of the creatures that players can encounter as well as fights. Players may also be looking for new skills to improve.
Waxworks: Curse of the Ancestors is available on Steam. Currently, the game is priced at $13,11 until December 27. Are you eager to dive into the depths of Waxworks?
