There's a lot to do in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. As you build your island, explore, harvest resources, meet new people, and work for good old Tom Nook, you'll be doing a lot of work. You don't want to lose progress, you may be wondering how to save your game.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has an auto-save feature, so it will automatically save your progress for you throughout your game session. As long as you make sure you don't turn off the switch while the autosave icon is on the screen, the system should not disappoint you.
If you have decided that you are done playing and want to save your progress and quit the game, you should press the minus (-) button on the left JoyCon. The game will ask you if you are done playing and want to save your progress. Press A, then select the option to save and end the game.
That's it, a very simple save system but a bit confusing due to the lack of a traditional save menu.
