Return of the lightsabers
Tomorrow is Star Wars Day. This means that every social media account will post "May the 4th be with you", people will marathon their favorite Star Wars movies, but more importantly, lightsabers will appear in any game that can justify it. For Fortnite, all the heavy lifting and hard work has already been done for their Fortnite x Star Wars crossover events. They just need to re-enable it, and that's exactly what Epic Games did. Starting today, you can use these legendary laser blades and don the special outfits.
In terms of costume items, players will be able to obtain Rey, Kylo Ren, and Sith Trooper cosmetics from the Item Shop. If you unlocked them last time, they should already be available to you. Emotes and back bling from the previous Star Wars event will also return. But of course you mean lightsabers. Players can wield four different lightsabers, iconic in their own way. You can use Luke Skywalker's green lightsaber, Kylo Ren's red lightsaber, Mace Windu's purple lightsaber, or Rey's blue lightsaber.
If this is the fake vacation you've been waiting for all year, you better jump on it. Star Wars items will return to a galaxy far, far away at the end of May 5. Fortnite is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and mobile.
