Fragile Bone Shard is an important resource in Genshin Impact which is used to level up characters and weapons. It is only dropped by Geovishap Hatchlings, an enemy that is difficult to kill but also difficult to find.
These little lizard-like creatures are tough to beat, but there are a few tricks you can use to get the better of them. Just before performing their roll attack, they will drop two Geo Shield pickups on the ground. If you catch them and allow the Hatchling to hit you, it will become stunned for a second, giving you an easy opening to attack it. You can also use wind attacks to flip them over and attack their unprotected stomachs.
The good news is that once you get the Adventurer's Handbook for Liyue, it becomes much easier to find. They're one of the traceable boss fights in the region, so if you open the manual from the main menu, then go to the Boss tab and scroll down, you'll be able to mark the location of one of them on the map.
After that, head to the location, kill them, and you should be lucky with a drop for Fragile Bone Shard. You can then continue to use the Adventurer's Handbook to find new spawns for the boss, but it will increase each time, so you can't farm it endlessly. You'll also need to make sure you have the original resin to claim your boss rewards.
