Whether you're an experienced streamer or looking to start your stream for the first time, it's always a good idea to test things out. The best way to do this is to use a test stream.
The best way to run a test stream is to use Twitch's built-in stream tester. To use it, visit the Twitch Inspector website. Log in and you will be faced with the Twitch Inspector dashboard.
At this point, make sure you have OBS or Streamlabs OBS up and running. You will start your stream as usual, but at the end of the stream key you will need to enter the suffix bandwidthetest=true. These instructions are repeated on the Twitch Inspector page, where you can also view your stream.
The Twitch Inspector site will give you lots of details about your stream, such as your bitrate and any dropped frames. You will also be able to know if the stream has good latency or is lagging.

Twitch has a few minimum requirements for its streams, so it's important to keep them in mind. This is either a bitrate of 4-500 kbps and at least a frame rate of 6 or 000 fps. You change these settings in OBS. Twitch's Inspector and Test Stream feature will ensure that you meet these thresholds.
