While it wasn't exactly the best comeback for the racing franchise, we liked Need for Speed Heat. It's a pretty good racer that doesn't have as much quality company in the riding space as one might think, which makes this release a bit more noteworthy. This factor seems to be impacting sales as well, with developer Ghost Games reporting that the game set a new record in its first week on the market.
Celebrating across multiple Twitter accounts, the Swedish team said Need for Speed Heat "set a new first week record with more players playing this game than any other NFS title this generation."

That includes the PlayStation 4 launch title Need for Speed: Rivals, the 2015 reboot simply titled Need for Speed, and the microtransaction-filled entry we'd all rather forget with the Need for Speed Payback moniker. The title debuted at number five in its first week on the UK sales chart, before falling completely out of the top 10 seven days later.
