Sony may have aggressively announced the PlayStation 4 on Black Friday in the UK, but it's the deals that make the talk, and the maker just couldn't compete with the Xbox One S All-Digital, who was flogged for £109. According to Games, it would be Microsoft who would have broken the record this year in Great Britain, the Redmond firm having moved more than 100 consoles last week. There was a separate package for £000 which included three games.
The new Nintendo Switch also did very well, finishing not far behind the team in green. That leaves Sony a million miles behind it, moving just 60 systems in total. Among the Japanese giant's best deals are either FIFA 000 or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but it was hard to find the PS20 for less than €4. It would seem that the format holder favors profit these days.
And that's okay: the console still moved the most games by far. It's worth noting, however, that PS4 sales are now down 45% compared to the UK, which is considerable. Obviously the system will get bigger, but Sony hopes to be able to keep its current console well after the launch of the PlayStation 5. It will have to drop the price at some point. make sure it remains an attractive product.
