We finally have a release date for Halo Infinite. As part of Gamescom's Opening Night Live 2021 event, 343 Industries announced that Halo Infinite will release on December 8.
Well, part will.
Previously, 343 said that the co-op campaign Halo Infinite and Forge would release in 2022, in the second and third seasons of the multiplayer mode respectively. What we'll get on December 8 is the full Halo Infinite single-player campaign and the first season of Halo Infinite multiplayer, which is free.
Speaking of multiplayer, 343 debuted in the opening trailer for the first season, which seems to revolve around a story itself. We see a civilian being rescued by Spartans and becoming one themselves, eventually leading the battalion you're part of.
Halo Infinite's multiplayer seasons feature cosmetics and other items that you can earn through play or buy outright, and unlike previous Halo games, how you dress matters. 343 took a different approach with customization this time around. Teams still have red and blue auras indicating who is who, but otherwise your Spartan's unique look will appear in every battle.
It's just one of the things we're looking forward to with Halo Infinite, though. With solid gunplay and classic gameplay, it's on its way to becoming one of the best shooters.
