You are nothing without your tools in Minecraft game. These are used to mine ore, chop down trees, dig up dirt, create farmland, catch fish, and more. There are a ton of useful tools to craft, which will come in handy on your journey through the game's biomes, so we'll walk you through exactly how to craft each tool in Minecraft in this guide!
Most important tools
These are the tools you would probably always create in every game of Minecraft. All of these can be crafted in different qualities depending on the resource you use to craft them. You can create them with planks, cobblestones, iron bars, gold bars or diamonds. They can also be upgraded to Netherite, which is the highest quality in the game.
Hache
The ax can be used to chop down trees. You'll be using it a lot, so make sure you have one on you at all times. There's another reason to have an ax with you and that's because it works great as a weapon. While you still want to have a sword, an ax does quite a bit of damage to a single target. Swords are better for multiple enemies, where an ax can be quite deadly on a single target!

Hoe
If you're looking to do some farming, you'll need a hoe to do that. Farming is very useful, especially in the early stages of the game when you don't have a reliable food source. You will use the hoe to create plots of land in which seeds can be planted. If you expose them to water and give them enough time, you'll have wheat that you can turn into bread! It's a great way to feed yourself until you can round up some cattle!

Pickaxe
The pickaxe is perhaps the most iconic tool in the game, especially since the game itself is named after what you make of it! You will find yourself going through several until you can get hold of a diamond and hopefully a netherite version of it. There's a lot of mining to do if you're new to a world, so make sure you have one handy to dive into the depths to find out what lies beneath.

Leather
It's the unsung hero of the tools you'll ever need. You might not need it right away, but it will definitely make your base and house formation easier! The shovel quickly removes any dirt, sand or gravel that gets in its way. You might find yourself using this thing as much as a pickaxe if you need to make heavy earth disturbances where you've decided to build your new home!

Other Tools
Although these are not on the list of important tools, they are certainly useful and you will be happy to have them when they are needed!
The clock
The clock isn't very useful, but it's fine if you're deep below the surface and wondering if you should get some air. It will alert you if it's dark and you might need to worry about what's lurking above. It's a bit pricey, so only craft this if you have gold to spare!

Compass
The compass is useful for determining where you are relative to where you have been. It's a good idea to grab one if you're heading to uncharted lands. You can also use the compass to create maps that will fill in as you explore! This is especially useful for finding your way back to places you've been to in the past.

Fishing rod
If you want another food source, then the Fishing Rod is a great way to get some! While fishing, you might even pull some interesting things out of the water. These can be very useful, so watch whatever you're baiting!

flint and steel
Flint and Steel are good for some temporary lighting, starting a fire if you need to, or opening a portal to another dimension! However you use this item, you'll be happy to have it close by when you need some quick fire.

Driving
The leash allows you to move the animals where you want them to go. You can catch mobs that aren't tameable, so if you want to walk a polar bear, you can do so on a leash. Not only that, you can also tie the animal to a fence post to hold it in position so it doesn't wander off!

Shears
Shears are quite useful for picking up wool, but they can also let you get some items that would normally be destroyed when you break them! If you want to place cobwebs all over your house or base to make it look haunted, you can do that with shears because they can pick them up without turning them into string!
