Item frames were added to Minecraft in 2012 in version 1.4! They have since been modified in several ways, but still provided the same basic function. Their main purpose is to display the objects placed inside. Players use it to indicate what materials are in a chest, to decorate their in-game house, or even as clues on adventure maps. Item frames are one of the least used items in Survival as they provide no substance to survival. At least it was until you could put cards in it! Any at least partially completed map can be displayed in full view on a wall! They are now suddenly a bit more interesting for Survival players. Let's see how to make them first.

Item frames require very basic resources that are easily accessible at the start of the game. The list below shows the items you will need to craft one.
The image below shows you how to place the items on the crafting table.
Usage
Item frames can be placed on the sides of the following block types:
- Pressure plates
- Fences
- Chest
- Doors
- All solid blocks
Once the item frame is placed, you can use it to display any item by holding it in your character's hand and using the item on the item frame. The item will be removed from your inventory and displayed as a thumbnail in the frame.

Plans
Item frames fully display the cards placed there, rather than the dropped item itself. As the maps show sections of the world, you can place multiple maps on a wall of item frames to display a large portion of your Minecraft world!
Rotation
You can rotate objects within the element frame. Use the secondary action button to rotate the object 45 degrees. It can alternate between eight different orientations.
