Revisit Ezio's Adventures in Assassin's Creed Next Month
Today, the official Assassin's Creed Twitter account announced an exciting release. The acclaimed Ezio Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch on February 17. First rumored last month, the collection is officially making its way to the Switch.
The collection was first released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2016. It included the entire trilogy chronicling the life of Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Ezio is a key character in the Assassin's Creed universe. Its story is the foundation for many future games, and those titles helped launch the franchise to its current popularity.
Ubisoft originally released Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed: Revelations between 2009 and 2011, so it's been a while since those titles topped the sales charts.
A lot has happened since these games started. Excluding spin-off releases, eight main series titles have been released since Revelations. The newest entry in the series, Assassin's Creed Valhalla debuts in 2020. The Ezio Collection is a great buy for gamers who are newer fans of the series who missed out on the original releases of these games.
The first release of the collection promised improved graphics, but it didn't deliver according to some reviewers. Still, while some gameplay mechanics may feel different from more recent titles, Ezio's storyline remains one of the best in the series. It's also the basis of much of the franchise's history.
Plus, this release is still a great buy because it includes every bit of single-player DLC for all three games. The collection also includes two short films: Lineage and Embers.
The collection is available for pre-order on the Nintendo Switch store today. If you've played these games, which first title is your favorite? Let us know in the comments below.
