Discord has become a great service for several different reasons. It is a communication service mainly used by players who want to create individual servers to invite their friends who share common interests. This also works for guilds or clans that want to use voice chat outside of the game they're playing. None of these servers are to be used for gaming, but that's primarily where they focus and the roots of the service when it arrived in 2015.
For those with servers, they can add bots to moderate large numbers of users, and some of these bots are particularly entertaining. Some of them can even be used to play games inside your servers, and these are some of the best.
IdleRPG
A good bot to add to your Discord server entertains you and your friends, but doesn't hold your attention primarily. When you're playing IdleRPG, you can play around a bit during the day, progress, and then go back to the original game you're focusing on. You don't have to spend too much time figuring out how you want to play your class, raid with other players, trade with NPCs, fight, enter a tournament, and more. It's a great bot to have in the background that won't suck up too much time.
BlackJack
For those who prefer card games where you have to bluff against your friends, the BlackJack Discord bot will make your server livelier. You and your friends can bet virtual chips in several games where it's all about luck and a bit of skill. But you don't have to rely on winning all the time. You can receive extra tokens by claiming more every couple hours or so, ensuring that even those who consistently lose can play and throw away tokens while waiting for a game's matchmaking servers to connect.
Pokécord
If you thought Pokémon was limited to your handheld devices or your Nintendo Switch, think again. You can catch Pokémon with your friends with the Pokécord Discord bot. When you start the game, you choose one of three different starter Pokemon from current generations. After you choose them, Pokémon appear randomly in the Discord service the more you and your friends talk. The first to correctly name the Pokémon that appears receives it, and it comes with random stats and a level. The bot comes with Pokémon battles, buying power-ups, Pokémon have IVs, and much more. It's a great addition for Pokemon fans who are lazily chatting on your Discord.
Rock Puppy
A smaller bot than the rest of this list, the Rock Puppy Discord bot is a horny doggo that's happy to be around you. You can play a variety of games with it, such as 8Ball, Fortunes, Tarot Readings, Tic-Tac-Toe, Truth or Dar, Would You Rather, and many others. The bot also has additional features to help your server, which are incredibly beneficial for groups that need a little more order to your chaos. However, you don't have to rely on these organizational tools and can focus on in-game features to reduce the time between waits for everyone in your party.
Idle Miner
Minecraft is a big game, and it can take a lot of time, especially for those with a lot of creativity. But that's not always what you and your friends want to play for the night. If you still fancy having it playing in the background, the Idle Miner Discord bot gives you a little gameplay test without the big server. Mostly, it focuses on the mining aspect and venturing into a mine, trying to get out with a full backpack, and ultimately increasing your pickaxe to acquire more resources. Ultimately, if you reach the end of the game with the most resources, you can start over with a whole new set of stats and even prestige. It's a fun little game to have on the side, and who doesn't love aimlessly looting mines?
