Planned 3D fighting game to release with 30 FPS in 2021
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles, the upcoming 3D fighting game based on the hit anime game Demon Slayer, has received some final details ahead of its October 15 release. One of those details is a major performance issue – at launch, the game will run with a 30 FPS cap.
The 30 FPS limit will be placed on all platforms – PC, Playstation and Xbox. As confirmed by a developer on Steam, “Hello! Yes, just to confirm, while it will be 30fps at launch to ensure a smooth gaming experience both offline and online, we will indeed be adding a 60fps performance mode (60fps gameplay, cinematics at 30 fps, to be precise) in a post-launch update. We appreciate your understanding during these difficult times. »
Although the developers, CyberConnect2, have announced that a 60fps patch will arrive at an unspecified date, there is a poor track record with CyberConnect2's patch history. Their latest major 3D fighting game, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja STORM 4, received its patch on February 3, 2017, almost a year after its original release on February 4, 2016.
The developers have also updated the Digital Deluxe Edition on Steam to give you a high resolution PC wallpaper, rather than the promised profile background. As compensation, players who purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition will now receive an additional bonus of "2 bonus character unlock keys", "1 additional character avatar", and the ability to access the game earlier from the October 13, 2 days before the game's official release.
What do you think of the fact that a 30 FPS cap exists on Demon Slayer The Hinokami Chronicles? Will you delay your purchase to wait for the promised 60 FPS patch? Let us know in the comments, or hit us up on Twitter or Facebook.
