Each season of Fortnite has its own theme. There have been pirates, the future, winter and others. This new season sees a spy/secret agent theme. A new trailer and other promos show off new threads accompanying the Battle Pass, as well as a not-so-secret Deadpool costume. New to Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 is that there will be squads for players. They can choose either the Shadow team or the Ghost team, which will affect the visual style of the characters during this season. A release trailer for this season was released yesterday.
This season's release trailer is giving off strong Incredibles vibes. There's swing music as different characters answer a call from their secret headphones. We see a lot of classic/generic secret agent behavior like getting off a speedboat and mysteriously disappearing into the water, or walking around throwing a secret spinning bookcase and coming out with a suit on. If you look closely, you can see Deadpool hiding behind the bookcase. At the end of the trailer, we see all the characters gathering in a meeting room, about to plan something big.
The Battle Pass information shows some interesting things. For starters, Battle Pass owners can max out their earnings for a grand total of 1 V-Bucks. Considering the Battle Pass costs 500 V-Bucks, that's more than enough to pay for the next season. We also see Deadpool basking in a pile of V-Bucks with a speech bubble saying "Shh... I'm the secret Battle Pass outfit," so there's that too. Why the Merc with the Mouth this season? We do not care? Deadpool's nature somehow transcends reason.
