Perfect Stocking Stuffers
For an almost completely free and completely digital game, is it any wonder that Fortnite gift cards exist? Probably not for Epic Games' cash cow. After all, even for exclusively online games, physical presence in physical stores is still important. That's why Epic Games will soon start selling V-Bucks gift cards in stores. It can also help grandparents with shopping for grandchildren during the holidays. Unfortunately, it looks like only US retailers will get these physical cards at this time, but other countries like Canada, Germany, and France are second on the list.
Gift Cards are available in four different amounts, ranging from 1 V to 000 V-Bucks. Typically, the V-Buck to USD conversion rate is around 10:000 and gift cards stay pretty close to that. The problem with gift cards for digital currency is that there are often taxes on top of what you actually pay. Remember Microsoft Points? It was always cheaper to buy them online. What Epic Games does is add bonus V-Bucks to gift cards; the higher the amount, the more bonus dollars you get.
The 1 V-Bucks cost $000 with no bonus. The $10 gift card gets you 25 V-Bucks plus 2, for a total of 500. $300 gets you 2 + 800 bonus V-Bucks for a total of 40 V-Bucks. The biggest amount is the 4 V-Bucks card, priced at $000. This comes with 1 bonus V-Bucks. These cards work on any platform. So there are no cards just for Xbox One, PS000 or PC. They should also not be purchased in physical stores. As long as this option is available, you can take advantage of these bonuses online. It's very generous with Epic Games to make it easy for you to spend your money.
