Was it still in early access?
You read the title correctly, the global sensation that is Fortnite has finally left Early Access. First stepping onto the battle royale scene in 2017, it took off and quickly became one of the biggest games of this generation. While its relevance has begun to wane thanks to fierce competition from Call of Duty: Warzone, Fortnite still has legions of dedicated fans who will continue to support it long after it leaves its early access title.
For anyone who's played Fortnite in the past three years, you know, it certainly didn't play like an early access game. Since becoming the phenomenon it is today, it has behaved like any other successful multiplayer game. This led to Epic Games declaring that Fortnite is officially over due to the completion of its PvE mode called Save the World.
The chance that its single-player experience will develop in the same way as its multiplayer is next to nil, but it'll always be there if you get tired of the online shenanigans. In terms of multiplayer, Epic Games has another ton of content planned. Despite its recent decline in popularity, Fortnite isn't going anywhere anytime soon. The world will still have to deal with younger Fortnite generations dancing through tough times.
Fortnite just wrapped up its second season and kicked off the third by flooding the previous map. Of course, this led to a very different and unique experience. Battles on water and on small islands are now the focus.
Fortnite is available on PC, mobile, Xbox One and PS4.
