They did this during the transition to the Chapter 2 update, when the game was set in a black hole. Now they do it with the new fishing mechanic in their game. Players who are lucky enough have the chance to catch a mythical goldfish, which will make them stand out. Here's how you get the goldfish and what it does in the game.
How to get the mythical goldfish in Fortnite Chapter 2
Is the item even in the game? Some players had thought that the game had not entered the official game release and was going to be released in a new patch or hotfix. However, we know it's in the game at this point. You can check it out in action in a Reddit post by BlakeBenbow. They show footage showing they were hit by the Mythic goldfish and placed in 11th.

How is goldfish used? To use the mythical fish, it is a throwable item. You're probably going to treat this like a grenade, so you'll need to work on your perception of the aim and make sure you hit the target. If you miss, you risk pulling out a weapon, which can only be used once, or you have to pick it up after throwing it and knocking someone out. If you watch the video above, you can see that BlakeBenbow went down immediately after being hit.
How are you going to get that fish? Unfortunately, it's going to be big business and a lot of luck on your side. You are going to need to fish like any other fish or weapon in streams. Because it's such a powerful weapon and a rare drop, you're going to spend a lot of time fishing in-game looking for it, and it might take you a long time to catch one.
For those willing to bite their tongues and focus extremely hard on game fishing, you'll most likely see it for yourself. Keep fishing for as long as possible during your games and you may find yourself confronted with this mythical object of the future. You get an achievement for killing yourself, so you can hope your enemies are luckier than you.
