Starting August 19, Sea of Thieves is ending the summer with a bang by launching a variety of challenges that players can complete by earning various cosmetic items. All available challenges have been posted on the Event Hubs page of the Sea of Thieves website. You have until September 30 to complete the available challenges to earn the cosmetics, which likely won't be available after the event ends. Sea of Thieves Summer lasts until September 30.
Importantly, you will earn a cosmetic item for every three objectives you complete. Each challenge has four objectives and you can receive a total of 12 cosmetics.
How to complete challenges and goals
All of these challenges and their objectives can be found on the Sea of Thieves Event Center website. If you sign in to the website with your Microsoft account, you can view the cosmetics you've received and see your progress with each challenge. Each challenge comes with a unique title as a reward.
Here are the 11 challenges and four objectives you can complete with your friends in Sea of Thieves.
Meet the locals
- Pirate Queens: Talk to Amarantha of the Sea Dogs at Sea Dog Tavern, talk to Umbra at Lagoon of Whispers, and talk to Grace Morrow at Morrow's Peak Outpost.
- The best dogs in the arena: talk DeMarco, Lesedi and Dimitry while jumping in the Arena mode.
- The Strangest Sea: Talk to the Fire Servant at Reaper Outpost, Madame Oliva at the Plunder Outpost, and the Ferryman on the Ferry of the Damned
- Tavern Friends: Talk to the Mysterious Stranger, Bilge Rat Duke, and Charred Parrot Tallulah
Make new friends!
- Make a Friend: Use the Make Friends emote with another pirate.
- Shanty Share: Play a slum alongside another pirate from a different crew.
- Chest to Impress: Let another crew cash in on a chest you've earned.
- Battle Bards; Play a slum on your ship with a full crew of four in the middle of an arena battle.
stay healthy
- Summer nights: cook a meal over a campfire at night.
- Shipshape: Repair three holes on your ship using planks while playing Arena.
- Fruit salad: eat all five types of fruit: pomegranate, mango, pineapple, coconut, and bananas
- Boarding Denied: Defeat a pirate who boarded your ship in an Arena battle.

- An Auspicious Beginning: Complete the Maiden Voyage.
- Trial by Combat: Complete a contest in the arena. You can win or lose.
- A Fateful Encounter: Defeat a Skeleton Ship, Kraken, Megalodon, Ghost Fleet, or Ashen Lord
- Silver Fox: Return a Dogfish Chest.

- Not So Fast: Drop an enemy crew's anchor in an Arena match.
- Deadly Blunder: Kill a pirate with your Blunderbuss in an arena match.
- OK Boomer: Blow up a skeleton's powder keg in a chain reaction, causing at least two to explode at the same time.
- About Face: Perform a brake turn by dropping your ship's anchor at full speed.
Become crazy
- Hidden Treasures: Dig up three buried chests in an Arena match.
- Pack the right powder: fire your cannon 50 times in the arena.
- That drinking feeling: drink hot toddy until you vomit.
- Damned Nuisance: Clear the Fort of the Damned.
Play together
- Pirate vs. Pirate: Finish in the top three crew three times in an arena match.
- DeMarco Polo: In an arena tavern, have one member of each crew sit in the hot tub.
- Stronger Together: Form an alliance with another crew.
- Bone Chair Buddies: Sit with another crew on a skeleton throne.
Get Groggy
- Drinking Friends: Drink toddy with another crew in a tavern.
- Toast in the Bath: Drink from the Glorious Sea Dog Tankard with three other pirates sitting in the hot tub.
- Go Home, Skeleton: Kill 10 Skeletons affected by Grog Balls.
- More Money Grog: Turn in a Dogfish Chest in a Drunk Arena match.
Be bolder
- Gotta Go Fast: Turn in a Dogfish Chest within five minutes of an Arena match.
- Finders. Guardians: Return a Stolen Dogfish Chest in an Arena match.
- Parrrkour: Complete the Sea Dogs jump challenge above the Tavern.
- Brave the Fire: Defeat an Ashen Lord.
Win a trophy
- Constant Competitor: Finish among the top three crews in 10 Arena matches.
- Most Vicious Pirate: Defeat 20 pirates in arena matches.
- Dedicated to the Flame: As an emissary of Reaper's Bones, sell another crew's level 5 flag.
- Extreme Fishing: Deliver 20 trophy fish when called by the hunter.
Rekindle the legend
- Legendary Prowess: Win an Arena match as a Pirate Legend.
- Legendary Landing: Land on the deck of an enemy ship using a cannon in an arena match.
- Legendary Loyalty: Reach Athena's Fortune Emissary Level 5.
- Legendary Bounty: Allow another crew to return your Legends Chest.
You have until September 30 to complete all possible challenges in order to earn the available cosmetic items. You don't have to run them in any particular order. You can choose to do three objectives from one challenge and then jump to start another.
