Fortnite Chapter 2 has arrived bringing a lot of changes to the game. The way you earn XP and level up has changed a lot, which affects your battle pass and how often you will receive these rewards. The good news is that leveling up is easier than ever, meaning even hopeless players like me will be able to rack up levels and get lots of free loot.
How to earn XP and level up in Fortnite Chapter 2
Fortnite has become very generous in how it rewards things you do in the game. You can now gain experience by performing simple actions like opening chests, ammo crates, or just staying alive long enough. You can also earn medals, which come with massive experience.
How to earn medals
Every day you will get a new Punchcard with medals that can accommodate 10 medals. As you earn medals, they will fill a box in the Punchcard. Medals are extremely easy to obtain. Each is worth 2000 XP, except for the fifth and 10th medals, which are worth 4000 XP.
You'll get medals for your first match of the day, opening chests, killing in a game, surviving to the last 50 players, and other simple in-game actions. The Punchcard will be refreshed every day at 6 hours PST, giving you a new chance every day to earn all that bonus experience.
You also gain experience for each action you can perform. When you start playing Chapter 2, there are certain activities that reward large amounts of experience, such as finding a named location, viewing question marks on the map, and finding landmarks. Each will give you 2000XP.
After that, simple actions like searching an ammo box will net you 65XP, killing an opponent will net you 85XP, etc. As soon as I have an accurate list of all the actions that reward experience, I'll update this guide with it.
Gaining experience in Fortnite Chapter 2 is as easy as staying alive and playing the game. Be sure to grab every chest, ammo box, and medal you can, and you'll quickly start racking up experience and be amazed at how quickly you progress through the Battle Pass ranks.
