How to Farm the Harvester in Persona 5: Royal

How to Farm the Harvester in Persona 5: Royal

Persona 5: Royal is an RPG where you need to spend some time working on your characters' levels to make sure they're ready to handle the game's next big threat. They won't always be able to rely on standard leveling they receive while walking through a palace. Instead, you have to take them through memories to battle the many different shadows you can find there. One powerful entity that you can potentially harness is the reaper, but it's a bit tricky.

Morgana warns players to avoid the reaper at all costs. It is an extremely powerful enemy in the game, capable of defeating a party member with a single attack. However, if you are able to defeat the reaper, you and your party members can receive plenty of experience points for doing so, increasing your level, as well as your teammates. To summon it, you must be idle in Mementos for two minutes. After that, Morgan notices how he can hear chains rattling in the distance, and the reaper comes somewhere on the level. You want to seek it out and do your best to pull it off.

Previously, you could farm the reaper by attacking it on a flu day and have it in three terms, much like all the other shadows in Mementos. This feature has been removed from Royal, meaning players now have to fight it directly to take it down.

You don't want to do it when you're at a low level. Instead, you want to do this when you and your party members are around 50-60, probably closer to mid-60s. At this point, you have a chance to delete it. Equip everyone in your party with the best gear available to you. You also want to make sure they have these spells available during combat:

    • Make sure one of your party members has the Divine Pillar attachment, which ensures that the enemy attack still hits but deals half damage.
    • Have a healer able to cast Mediarahan (heals all party members present)
    • Bring someone who can cast Makarakarn (you want to use it immediately in a fight).

When you start the fight, you want whichever party member uses Makarakarn first. When they do, they force the reaper into a specific loop where it periodically casts Megidolaon. You want your squishy party members to focus on defending while the reaper charges. If you can, feed specific party members who can reliably cast attack and defense buffs during this time, giving each party member a decent enough boost to damage the reaper when it's your tower.

Unfortunately, there is no set way to reliably farm and kill the reaper like players were able to do during flu season in November and December in the original Persona 5 game. Royal prevents players from remove it meanwhile after three rounds. Now it's all about complementing your party members with the best healing and trying to force the reaper into a cycling loop where it uses Megidolaon.
