One of the challenges in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 Week 3 is to place three fire traps. Fire Traps was added to the game at the start of the season. They can spawn as loot on the ground or in chests anywhere on the map, so you'll just have to loot until you manage to find one.
When you pick it up, it will appear in your construction equipment slot, as long as you don't already have something in the slot. Placing them is very easy, just press the build gear button on your platform and then place the fire trap on the ground. For this challenge you just need to place them, you don't need to do any damage with them thankfully.
Fire Traps are a rare drop that shoots a fireball at enemies who stray too close. The range to activate a fire trap is three tiles, so try not to get too close to it if you see it in the game. If you need to break it to get safe passage, you can just shoot it. The fireballs will deal 50 damage to any player on impact, so luckily they won't shoot you once.
