Mechs could soon be sheltered in Fortnite
According to some teasers of the new Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 map, as well as fan speculation, mechs could return to Fortnite. Although mechs were removed from the game at the end of Season X much to the delight of fans, new clues on the Zero Point map suggest the BRUTEs are back in battle royale. Eagle-eyed Fortnite fans noticed a new BRUTE slowly being assembled on the new map, suggesting a return of the frustrating tool. Fortnite is available now for free on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, mobile, Mac and PC.
The new BRUTE assembled at Hunter's Haven doesn't quite look like the original mech found in Fortnite Chapter 1 Season X. The new mech looks short and sturdy compared to the original and it's a Twitter user known as FortTory who spotted him in Hunter's Haven.
The Fortnite community has been divided on mechs ever since they were implemented in Season X, and it seems like they're still divided on the BRUTE 2.0 potential. “Ngl, I would love to see the mechs come back,” said a Twitter user called No One. "This season seems to be my favorite already and the downtime isn't even over yet," said another mech fan known as Big John. “Different does not equal a stupid bad sweat. This season will be the most hostile to sweatshirts, which is awesome! said Gex Tex on Twitter.
Not everyone is a fan of BRUTE's potential return, however, with many Twitter users simply proclaiming variations of "No!" "Okay boys, let's join forces and stop the maniac responsible for this," said a Twitter user named Yohan, who clearly forgets that a large portion of Fortnite fans are women. "Because they want us to only feel pain," Super Josh said.
