Gathering Drones in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 are dangerous little robots that follow and spawn larger Gorgers. These little guys might not seem threatening, but if you let them pile up in numbers, you're going to have a bad time.
How to find pickers
The best place to find a collector is to find a gorger. Gorgers will appear randomly on the map and will be marked with a beam of red light when they appear. The Gorgers will continually spawn these little drones which will then scavenge for loot, bring it back, and feed it to the Gorger. the Gatherers, the Gorger will quickly spawn more.
The Gatherers aren't a major threat on their own, but if you let the Gorger spawn too many at once, you'll suffer from the volume of fire, and it will be difficult to dodge the Gorger's very powerful shots. Gorgers can kill you in two hits if you are unarmored, but Gatherers slowly reduce your health, dealing 10 damage per hit.
If you're working on a challenge to farm Gatherers, you should find the Gorger and eliminate all the Gatherers, then wait for it to spawn more. As long as you don't destroy the Gorger, it will spawn Gatherers for the entire match.
When you destroy a Pickup, they drop to the ground and you can pick them up and use them as a weapon. Do it quickly, otherwise they will explode. This weapon has two firing modes, a normal semi-automatic mode and a charged mode. Charged mode will do a lot of damage to the Gorger, but will use up all ammo and the weapon will decay. These weapons also have a limited lifespan and do not appear in your inventory, so you cannot use them for the entire game.
