One of the oldest and most important things you will do in Minecraft is the oven. This will help you smelt ore into ingots which can be used to craft tools and armor, or even cook food which will make it easier for you to survive. So, let's take a step-by-step look at how to make an oven in this tutorial!
How to make an oven
To craft an oven in Minecraft, you'll need to gather wood, craft a crafting table, create a pickaxe, and then mine stone to craft it! We will guide you step by step below.
Step 1: Gather a Log of Wood
Since we're probably just getting started, we'll need to gather a log of wood. This can be done by hitting a tree! Although it is a slow method, we can speed up the process in the future by creating an ax. However, at the moment we don't need to do this, so just hit the trunk of the tree to collect wood.
You only need one wood log for the crafting table, but you need to grab at least three or four because we'll need them for later.
Step 2: create wooden planks
Now that we have a wooden log, we're going to need to make some wooden planks! Open your inventory and place the journal in the crafting area.
We get four planks of wood for every log we put in it, which is exactly what we need. Take these newly crafted planks and place them in your inventory or toolbar.
Step 3: Create the crafting table
Keep this inventory open, as you will now want to place the four wooden planks in each of the empty slots in the crafting area to create the crafting table.
Take the crafting table and place it in your toolbar (bottom bar in this menu)! You will then want to close your inventory, select the crafting table, and place it on the floor.
Step 4: create sticks
If you haven't turned all of your Wood Logs into Planks, you can do so now. We're going to need three sticks, so place two planks in your crafting table to create them like this:
Take the sticks and place them in your inventory.
Step 5: Create the wooden pickaxe
Place three wooden planks at the top of your crafting table window, then place two sticks on top of each other in the middle. If you do it as shown below, you'll see a wooden pickaxe in the completed box!
Grab this pickaxe and place it in your toolbar for easy use!
Step 6: find the stone
Stone is everywhere! You can find it in caves, scattered in various formations, and if all else fails, you can dig through dirt or sand to locate some. However, if you decide to dig, make sure you don't dig straight! This is the only rule in Minecraft you have to follow, because if you dig you might fall down a hole or straight into lava! Once you've found yourself some stone, you'll need to mine it with your new pickaxe and get eight cobblestones in total!
Step 7: Build the Oven
Simply return to your crafting table and place your eight cobblestones in a ring while leaving the center empty.
Now just take the oven out of the creation window and place it in your inventory!
furnace fuel
You can use all sorts of things as fuel by placing it at the bottom of the Furnace's inventory. The most common thing to use is coal, charcoal or wood logs. You'll find coal quite often while you're mining, which is worth scavenging for fuel or creating torches. Logs or planks of wood will work for you if you haven't had a chance to mine a lot!
