If you've been playing Minecraft for a while now, you've undoubtedly gotten your fair share of achievements. Well, there's even more to complete now that the big 1.16 Nether patch is finally out! We'll take a look at all of these, as well as what you can do to earn them in this guide.
Minecraft 1.16 Achievements List
Before we take a look at how to complete achievements, let's take a look at all of the ones you can grab in the 1.16 update:
- Bullseye โ Hit the bullseye of a target block.
- Cover Me in Debris โ Wear a full set of Netherite armor.
- Oooh, brilliant! โ Distract a Piglin using gold.
- Hot Tourist Destination โ Visit all Nether biomes.
Bullseye
Hit the target of a target block.
Target Block is new to Minecraft in the 1.16 update. You will need four redstone dust and a bale of hay to craft it. Here is the recipe:
Now make sure you have a bow, crossbow or trident and shoot an arrow or the trident at it and try to hit the target which is the central red dot! Once you've done that, you should receive the achievement.
Cover me with debris
Wear full Netherite armor.
It's probably the hardest of the four right now. Obtaining Netherite Armor is going to take some effort, as it is difficult to obtain Ancient Debris that is converted into Netherite. This is especially the case if you're starting from scratch, as you'll need to get a full set of Diamond armor before getting it. Here is an overview of the steps:
- Get a full set of Diamond Armor (Where to find the Diamond Guide)
- Head to the Nether
- Farm Ancient Debris (Ancient Debris Farming Guide)
- Smelt Ancient Debris into Netherite Debris
- Convert Scrap into Netherite Ingots
- Create a Smithing table
- Upgrade Diamond Armor with Netherite Ingots
This is a pretty simple overview of how it's done, if you want to learn more then be sure to check out our Netherite Armor crafting guide!
Ooooh, brillant!
Distract a Piglin using gold.
Piglins love each other certain gold and gold items. You can find this new "neutral" mob in the Nether. I put neutral quotes because they will attack you unless you have at least one piece of gold armor! Piglins can be found in these different Nether biomes: Crimson Forests, Strongholds, and Nether Wastes. Once you find one, all you have to do is grab a gold bar or other gold item and hold it in your hand. Once you do, nearby Piglins should be drawn to it! After getting knowledge, you should receive success.
You can barter with Piglins by giving them a gold bar, see more about this in our Piglin Barter Guide.
Hot tourist destination
Visit all biomes in the Nether.
There are five different biomes you'll need to visit in the Nether to get the achievement. If you don't mind using Minecraft commands, you can use the new "/Locatebiome" to find all five! Java players will know which biome they are in by using the F3 key! If you want to locate them yourself, here's a list with what you'll be looking to find:
Nether Waste
This is your base biome in the Nether and will likely be the one you encounter the most. It's covered by the familiar red Netherrack that you'll no doubt have seen in the past if you've played Minecraft a lot.
warped forest
One of the prettiest new additions to the Nether is the Warped Forest. You'll find turquoise-green trees as far as the eye can see, and the ground will be covered in warped Nylium.
crimson forest
The Crimson Forest is a bit more sinister than the Warped Forest. Red trees cover the landscape and the ground is covered in blocks of warts. You can also locate weeping vines that can spread and be cultivated.
Basalt deltas
One of the more interesting biomes that was added due to the dark grays, ashy air, and overall feel. You'll find a fair amount of lava there, as well as your fair share of magma cubes.
Soul Sand Valley
Finally, you have the Soul Sand Valley biome which is marked by its spooky looking texture which appears to be faces screaming in horror in the blocks. You run slower on these blocks, so be careful when walking in this area!
