In Minecraft, players can get a ton of enchantments, but some are better suited for certain items. Smite would be best used on a weapon like a sword or breath on a helmet. Such is the case with pickaxes, and in this guide we'll be looking at some of what we consider to be the best must-have enchantments for pickaxes.
Curse of disappearance
If you ever hate losing decent items to death, like falling into lava, Curse of Vanishing is a great enchantment that will recover any item it's on when you dye it.
Fortune
Fortune is a fantastic enchantment, especially on pickaxes, as it often increases the drop rate of items such as diamonds. If you want this enchantment, we recommend jumping into Fortune III, as you'll get the most rewards from this tier.
Mending
Repair is another but not necessary enchantment that will allow you to use experience orbs to repair your pickaxe. All in all, a pretty useful enchantment, more so when combined with an unbreakable.
Silky touch
Moving down, the next must-have enchantment for pickaxes would be Silk touch. The reason is simple: Silk Touch will allow you to mine materials such as ender chests and coral blocks and falling ore blocks instead of their ore.

Unbreakable
Unbreaking is a great enchantment for pickaxes, as it increases durability and will help you keep mining for as long as possible. Another benefit of unbreakable is that it also reduces repair costs, so there's no reason for you to use it!
Efficiency
If you want to speed up your block mining time, you'll need to grab yourself efficiently. With each level of Efficiency, you will find yourself mining blocks at a faster rate, with the fastest boost granted with Efficiency IV.
