What does smite do in Minecraft - How to get Smite enchantment?

Smite is a special enchantment in Minecraft that increases the amount of damage players deal to undead types such as the following: Zombies, Skeletons, Zombie Pigmen, Ghosts, etc.

The Smite enchantment can be placed on both swords and axes, but is most useful when used on netherite and diamond swords and axes and when combined with other enchantments that increase the damage.

The damage dealt by Smite will also increase based on the level of the enchantment placed on the item, the maximum being Smite III.

How to get Smite in Minecraft?

To obtain Smite in Minecraft, players will need to use the usual methods of obtaining enchanted books, including: crafting enchanted books, fishing, raiding dungeons, and trading.

Starting with Enchanting Books, you will first need to get an Enchanting Table, Books, and Lapis Lazuli if you want to use this option.

You will then need to craft and obtain all of these with 15 bookcases and place them around the enchanting table with a one block buffer between the 15 bookcases and the table.

This will in turn increase the chances of getting higher tier enchantments, and you'll also need to hold onto enchanting books until the enchantment you want appears.

However, beyond this option, you can also fish using an enchanted fishing rod. To use the enchanted fishing rod option, you will first need to enchant a fishing rod with luck of the sea.

This will then increase the chances of you getting enchanted books while fishing. Then, after fishing, it is possible to exchange emeralds for books or loot dungeons; Overall, both are decent options but shouldn't be relied upon as they're the least likely to work in-game.
